Electric driving
Long driving range requires great amounts of energy if only the electric motor is used for propulsion. That energy is delivered by a battery that ensures high storage capacity by using high-energy cells. The cells need to be tested on electrolyte gasses and used materials.

Compression Test for Structural Materials of Lithium-Ion Batteries
During the production processes and use of the Batteries the inner structural material is subjected to external force. The MCT series are the dedicated systems and special designed for strength evaluation of micro components, micro particles, and fine fibres under compression.
Analysis of Electrolyte Solution in Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery (LIRB) and Evolved Gas from LIRB
GC-MS is applicable for composition analysis of the electrolyte solution, and for analysis of components in the electrolyte solution that have been generated due to repeated charging and discharging. Shimadzu introduces examples of analysis of the electrolyte solution of a lithium ion rechargeable battery and of the gas evolved from a cell that has been maintained at a high temperature by GCMS.
Evaluation of Temperature-Dependent Strength Properties of Lithium-Ion Battery
Because the lithium-ion battery separator is set in place so that it comes into contact with the rough surfaces of the positive and negative terminals, high mechanical strength is required. This mechanical strength must be maintained even if there is some rise in temperature, which is common to some degree, for example, during battery charging.
