After releasing its first TOC products, Shimadzu rapidly improved them, launching the TOC-401, TOC-402, and TOC-10A the next year. TOC-10A allowed manual injection into a 950°C furnace, with CO2 peaks printed and measured by peak height.

1975

TOC-10B

TOC-10B

This improved laboratory analyzer used ambient air purified for high-sensitivity TOC analysis. Enhanced injection ports and dual furnaces allowed for precise measurements. It marked Shimadzu's first international debut at an exhibition in Tianjin, China.

1983

TOC-500

TOC-500

The TOC-500 introduced the 680°C combustion method, reducing maintenance issues from salt in samples. With simplified catalyst replacement, automated peak integration, and global availability, it gained popularity in Europe and the US.

1989

TOC-5000

TOC-5000

Featuring a revolutionary syringe pump with a 4-port valve and sample slide injector, this model simplified operation. It supported autosamplers, improving accuracy and labor efficiency. The measurement range extended to lower ppb levels, enabling pure water analysis.

1994

TOC-5000(A)

TOC-5000(A)

Featuring the first Shimadzu PC software, "TOC Control," this model became essential for pharmaceutical applications like pure water and cleaning validation. The TOC-5050(A) variant was introduced for environmental analysis.

1995

TOC-4000

TOC-4000

Utilizing the 680°C combustion method and an 8-port valve, this online TOC analyzer featured automatic dilution, particle sampling, and POC measurement. It ensured reliable analysis and rapid response for environmental protection.

1998

TOC-4100

TOC-4100

Introducing TNb analysis, this model connected a chemiluminescence detector for combined TOC and TNb measurement. It featured automated samplers, dilution capabilities, and flexible configurations for various applications.

2000

TOC-V C

TOC-V C

Featuring an 8-port valve, expanded applications, and a new NDIR detector with auto-zero function, the TOC-V series became a best-seller. Enhanced "TOC-Control V" software supported GMP/GLP compliance.

2002

TOC-V W

TOC-V W

Utilizing UV irradiation, persulfate, and heat for oxidation, the TOC-V wet chemical analyzer allowed higher injection volumes and lower detection limits. It was ideal for precise measurements in pure water analysis.

2003

TOC-4110

TOC-4110

Combining TOC-V improvements, the TOC-4110 featured a single beam NDIR detector with auto-zero and a miniaturized TN detector. Advanced sampling units and a high salt combustion tube reduced maintenance costs.

2011

TOC-L

TOC-L

With the proven 680°C catalytic oxidation method, the TOC-L series offered modularity, electronic gas flow control, and a high salt combustion tube. These advancements reduced maintenance and energy consumption.

2012

TOC-4200

TOC-4200

Designed for robust, unattended operation, the TOC-4200 included a color touchscreen for easy use. It featured a high-sensitivity kit, extended range up to 50,000 mg/L, and reduced maintenance costs.

2021

TOC-1000e

TOC-1000e

Specializing in online ultra-pure water analysis, the TOC-1000e had a 0.1 µg/L detection limit and a mercury-free excimer lamp. "Active Path" technology and easy maintenance supported compliance with pharmacopoeia regulations.
